About Acelero Learning in Monmouth and Middlesex, New Jersey

Acelero Learning - Monmouth/Middlesex’s primary service area is the central New Jersey counties of Monmouth and Middlesex and provides Early Head Start (ages 0-3) services, Head Start (ages 3-5) services, and Home-Based services (to pregnant women and ages 0-5, depending on slot availability). We are a free, full-day, full-year-including-summer program. We also have Extended Day services at various centers for before- and after-school care, geared towards working families. We also operate New Jersey Pre-K Program partnership classrooms (formerly Abbott) in conjunction with local school districts in our Asbury Park, Red Bank, Howard, and Second Street centers.

Nutritious meals and snacks are provided every day in a family-style dining setting at all centers. In addition, we support the completion of general health and wellness screenings and exams for all children served by our program. A wide range of social services are also provided for interested families through our dedicated Family Advocates.

In the 2014 - 2015 school year, our program cumulatively served over 1,200 children and their families. The majority of these families meet the federal Head Start guidelines for entering the program by being income eligible, and other families qualify through Public Assistance (TANF/SSI), are involved with the foster care system, or are homeless at the time of enrollment. Just as families throughout the state of New Jersey are ethnically diverse, so are the children and families we serve! While the greatest percentage of our families identify as Hispanic or Latino, we have served families that also identify as Asian, Black/African American, and/or White. Similarly, our families speak a wide range of languages at home. In addition to English- and Spanish-speaking families (we have incorporated ESL classrooms), many of our families speak Middle Eastern and South Asian languages at home as well.

Acelero Learning - Monmouth/Middlesex was first established in 2005 and was the replacement grantee for another Head Start program in Monmouth County. Seeing the ability to serve more children in the community and after a strong start in 2005, in 2006 we acquired the Middlesex County program as well. We are now and always have been committed to providing the highest quality Pre-K education to our children and support families to advocate for their children and themselves.
